The department has responsibility over the following;
i. Propose and develop an institutional Quality Assurance framework (policies, procedures and operational manuals) with particular reference to teaching and other activities pertaining to monitoring and self-assessment processes of academic programmes.
ii. Review and evaluate quality assurance systems and procedures.
iii. Oversee activities and monitor quality assurance procedures at the University College.
iv. Promote a culture of quality and supports information and training initiatives in collaboration with the relevant administrative organs.
v. Conduct periodic internal reviews using internally and externally derived information data, including feedback from students and staff.
vi. Oversee the implementation of recommendations from internal and external evaluations of academic programmes.
vii. Offer advisories on quality issues to the various university organs on quality assurance matters.
viii. Conduct quality assurance related research.
ix. Serve as the link between the institution and Quality Assurance regulatory bodies.
