Dr. Wambongo C.S. Recha is a Senior Lecturer of Geography (specialized in Climatology) and the current Head of Quality Assurance and Data Management at Bomet University College (BUC), Kenya. Prior to this, Dr. Recha served in various capacities that including head of Postgraduate Studies, Partnerships and Linkages (2022-2024) at BUC, Director of International Linkages and Career Services (2019-2021) and Chairperson Geography Department (2014-2019) at Egerton University, Kenya. Dr. Recha is a recipient of several research projects and awards; and has published peer reviewed short communications (2), book chapters (4) and journal articles (30). According to google scholar, his research has been cited 570 times with and i10-index of 10 as of January 2025. Dr. Recha has supervised to completion ten (10) postgraduate students (4 PhDs, 6 masters) and he’s a member of the Kenya Meteorological Society. Dr. Recha is an active peer reviewer of manuscripts for journals and has been involved in various short course trainings and workshops. He has on occasions been appointed an external examiner by various Universities in East Africa. Ms. Dinah Ayoma Wechuli is a Researcher, supporting both the Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension Department as well as the Quality Assurance and Data Management Unit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Moi University and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies (Environmental Information Systems) from the University of Eldoret. Ms. Wechuli is a skilled GIS and Remote Sensing analyst with specialized expertise in Spatial Data Analysis, Data Visualization and Management, as well as Modelling and Optimization. Her commitment to research, data management and leadership is evidenced by her receipt of several prestigious fellowships, including the African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship in 2020, the Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship Programme in 2022, and the ACTS Sustainability Fellowship Programme under the ACTS Academy in 2024.Within the realms of the Quality Assurance and Data Management Unit, Dinah serves as the secretariat to the Quality Assurance and Data Management Committee. In this role, she also supports various critical functions such as conducting periodic internal inspections and audits, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating institutional processes, overseeing quality assurance management systems, and managing institutional databases.
Ms Cherono is a Public Service Commission intern (2024-2025) attached to the Department of Quality Assurance and Data Management at Bomet University. Prior to this, she served as a Loan Officer at Mogo Finance from November 2020 to December 2024, and as a Financial Advisor at CIC Insurance Group from January 2019 to November 2020. Ms. Cherono has also served as a Field Officer at Chebango Tea Factory (Jan 2018-Apr 2018), and as a Sales Executive at Dot Investment Limited (May 2018-Dec 2018). Cherono holds a BSc in Agribusiness Management from Chuka University (2013-2017).
